Could Bobby Fischer Still be Alive?

Bobby Fischer Still Alive

Considering how private the life of Fischer was, plus the fact so few people actually saw him ill, and even throw in that the Rev. Kristinn Agust Fridfinnsson told the TV station in Iceland that the ceremony was arranged so hastily he did not arrive until after the ceremony was over - it could lead one to wonder about Fischer's death.

With the world believing Bobby Fischer has died, it may give him the freedom to actually travel abroad without worrying that the United States will still be on his trail with a warrent for his arrest.

Maybe Fischer's greatest chess move is yet to come.

Post your thoughts...

Bobby Fischer forfeited all rights to admiration when he showed himself to be the crackpot racist mongrel he always was. The name Fischer-Random chess should be changed to Random-Setup chess and his legacy forgotten. He was a total disgrace to the human race and thankfully he is no longer alive. If he is alive so is Elvis.

If that is even a remote possibility, I for one, want him well and alive.

And to the one that spewed that garbage, you come across as scum, what would you know of a perfectionist genius.

I've never heard of this guy until today (the story has Elvis' name in it, so it showed up in my email), but from all that I've read...he most certainly WAS a racist who hated jews and laughed at the US after 9/11. If this is truth, I see no reason to mourn his death either.

I stand by anonymous #1.

Maybe - consider this: Fischer comes to heaven and their hi see Capablanca play chess. But the landlord wont let him in.

Bobby: Why hi ask?
Landlord: "well, we dont allow chessplayers to come in...". Bobby:But I d not play chess and bye the way Capa does what is this?
Landlord: Well Capa dosnt play chess hi plays Fischer-Random...
Fischer: I dont play chess either, and I invented it, i most come in!
Landlord: But you are still the greatest chessplayer?
Fischer: Capa was also the best player when hi died
Landlord: But you are not dead yet...

I'd love to believe Bobby faked his own death and his greatest chess move is still to come. But I cannot believe it. By all reputable accounts, Bobby remained loyal to the few close friends he had during the last few years of his life, and they have all been hit very hard by his death.

His closest Icelandic friends, the Sverinsson family, issued a statement saying "we all miss him very much." Another Fischer spokesperson reported Bobby's widow, Miyoko Watai, as being "devastated by his death."
And earlier this month, Reuters reported that Boris Spassky was wiping tears from his eyes when he visited his rival's grave for the first time and laid flowers for Bobby.

Despite his character flaws, I just don't think Bobby would let those closest to him endure such pain if he were still with us. He was not THAT f**ked up mentally!

Those with problems with Fischer should know something before hating him, do some research and you would find out that it was the U.S.'s fault that Fischer was "disgraced", he is, at least the second best chess player of all time, if not the best, he was and should always be known as a great man

Yes, he was a racist, but a lot of people are worse than bobby. Intolerance is unfortunatelly worldwide problem. And he was a genius. Wasn't he?

Bobby Fischer did have issues. It is just so sad that he was the face of mental illness and was destroyed for it.

Does anyone know how/why Fischer came out of hiding?
He was living in a small apartment in Los Angeles (in a neighborhood just behind Johnny's Coffee Shop on WIlshire) under an alias.
I remember he was using "James" for his last name. I'd have to look up the file to get the details.

I'd start a new topic on this but I can't figure out how.....

The irony is allot of Jews suffer from self hatred and by natural extension all Jews fall under this umbrella of distaste in their mind. Self loathing can be a terrible by-product of genius.
