My 60 Memorable Games

My 60 Memorable Games

Long before Bobby Fischer became the World Chess Champion, he published a book titled "Bobby Fischer: My 60 Memorable Games". For many, the book became and instant classic. For others, the hype surrounding the book was only because it was by Fischer. The book has undergone multiple revisions (and none by Fischer who objected to the revisions). Original copies of the book appear to be fetching a pretty good amount on Ebay. At the time of the post, there was an autographed copy going for $5,500.

You can play through the games in the book here: 'My 60 Memorable Games'.

I have got a copy of Fischer's book too. As it is one of the latest published editions, I think it has got some of the above mentioned cheanges as well, for example, the notation of the moves has been changed into one I can understand as German easier.

No changes within Fischer's comments have been made.

That's why in my opinion my copy dishonours Bobby Fischer definitely in no case!

Supplement to my post above: Fischer's book is simply great, and I wished he had written a second one on his games during the cycle of the World Chess Championship from 1970 to 1972.

I have gone through Fischer's MSMG and also recently finished reading kasparov's MGP part 4 on Fishcer. While both of these books are fascinating: I must tell that without the aid of computer Fischer did something which to my knowledge no one did. His analysis are still very modern and very candid. Most of them are perfect and I only wish that Fischer writes more

It is the beautiful book.
The other one 'Bobby Fischer is teaching chess ' is excellent either.

I am waiting for the next book written by R.J.

Yup, it would be marvelous to read the first hand account of the 1992 historic match - straight from the horse's mouth. Thus far, we have seen and heard what all those around him had to say. It sure would make very, very interesting reading.
