The Game of the Century

The Game of the Century

In 1956, Bobby Fischer played in what was immediately labeled the 'Game of the Century'. In it, a young Fischer at age 13 made a startling Queen sacrifice which many Grand Masters of the time would not have even considered. Fischer went on to win the game and it was already clear, even at this young age, he was far ahead of his contemporaries. He would soon overtake even the resilient Samuel Reshevsky as the United States leading player.

I'd just like to know when the Jews will stop hounding Bobby so he can return to chess. He can't even play Fischerrandom in international tournaments because the filthy stinking Jews control FIDE and have set outrageous conditions for such a match, not to mention they steal and thieve from Bobby at every opportunity and have even sold his priceless belongings on the internet for pennies, which they and Bekins moving and storage stole from him. Tell these filthy Jews to stop hounding Bobby and maybe Bobby will return to Chess.

I am an avid fan of Fischer and I put several comments in the other blog topics to support Fischer, but honestly, I am losing hope for his comeback. 62 yrs old is already old enough but because I am a fan of Fischer, I still believe he can do it if he will start now and he can still be the best for another 4 years but if he is not going to restart now, I would rather forget it.

I am not sure how correct is that Jew related issue, as far as I can tell, US is "probably" still after him even he is now an Icelandic citizen, but if US still do, I guess its kind of childish act and US should concentrate to the real enemies/terrorist not Fischer who will do no harm. But I guess US will just ignore him now, unless they are really childish and think Fischer is a threat and at the same level of Bin Laden.

Fischer should also stop commenting against Jews, let him consider it past and start a new life.

Those with grudge to Fischer forget it too and let him have a new life.

Regarding FIDE, Fischer should give another try. Probably FIDE would make up this time and give whatever possible support for Fischer to let him back and make-up for their shortcomings (Unless it is controlled by Russian or Karpov alike). The best way at this moment probably is to play with the best like Topalov or the FRC world champion Svidler within or outside FIDE. Or play the classical chess against the top 5 players.

For the rest like stealing Fischer's priceless belongings and other inhuman treatment he had experience like in Pasadena Jail, I fully agree with you. He was the only world champion treated badly and does not deserve it.

I really wish Fischer will come back this year or in few months no matter what and prove again his superiority in the board. I dont mind if he is going to have bad start due to he did not play for several decades and I would also not mind if he will not reach the same level again as before but what I am sure of, he can still give us brilliant games and will improve in short period of time to match the current level of the best players.

Sponsors, lay your offer and give Fischer another chance.

Other Potential Sponsors, if you are Jews I hope you will show Fischer compassion and prove slowly he made a mistake in allegation. Make a good offer without any hypocrisy for him to play again.

Fischer, forget about the grudge its not worth your current sleeping career. There are still good people around, Jews and non-Jews.

If I didn't know better, I would think it might be Fischer himself who wrote that first post.

"outrageous conditions" Interesting.

It's all relative isnt it.

Read "Mans search for meaning" by Victor Frankel.

That's outrageous conditions to play a game of chess in.

Here is a sample to solving outrageous conditions by Viktor Frankel.

On Fulfilling One's Task

"A man who becomes conscious of the responsibility he bears toward a human being who affectionately waits for him, or to an unfinished work, will never be able to throw away his life. He knows the "why" for his existence, and will be able to bear almost any "how."

I wish Iceland will take the initiative and encourage Fischer to be active again. Fischer I hope is a grateful person and start to give something back to Iceland by restarting his career. Don't be mistaken that I pre-empt Fischer, it is his option. I am just eager to see him playing again, I believe he is still great in chess and can still be greatest in short period of time, he just need practice and exposure again. I dont care about Kasparov alike comments that he played mediocre in 1992,because Kasparov is somewhat biased not recognizing Fischer did not play for 20 years.

ICELAND PLEASE!!

Bobby will never come back.

He may be wrong as hell about anything but chess. He may be the most gifted and hardworking player ever lived but he still won't be able to compete. If he returned, it'd be a huge disappointment. For all his fans all over the world and, more importantly, for him.

Over 3 decades ago, Bobby singlehandedly broke well-oiled and seemingly unbeatable Soviet chess machine. He proved that there's nothing a man with talent and a heart can not do.
Thanks for that, Bobby. You shouldn't have quit. You would've beat Karpov in 75, 78, 81, then Kasparov in 84 and then quit saying "Allright, I'm done with you people. You wake me up when you learn how pieces move...", something along these lines.

Too late, way too late... Bobby knows it better than anybody. He'll never come back.

If he returned, it wouldn't be a huge disappointment for all his fans all over the world and I am sure with it. Who cares if he cannot play initially same as brilliant level as before? The most important is his comeback. He can be best for another 4-5 years, no one knows. He learned chess the hard way almost without any second/s and without computer assistance. Einstein became even better when he got older and Fischer is the Einsten of Chess.

But Fischer you must comeback now or else those people who wants you to remain in a pothole will rejoice forever. Don't make them win.

Don't let your fans down. Your real fans will always be with you win or lose especially now. But if you will remain with your sleeping career. Next generation chessplayers will not know your real greatness anymore and might believe in Kasparov remarks in his Great Predecessors book.

Iceland and Fischer, talk to each other. Iceland please do the first step. It is a big favor if you (Iceland) can make his talent alive again and not wasted 'til death.

Genius should never be underestimated. Genius is full of surprises and does not play by the same rules as other mortals.

Expect the unexpected!

True but human is still human subject to deterioration. Though some people deteriorates earlier and some are later.

Look at Korchnoi who is 12 years older than Fischer. He can still play good chess but not as good as when he was younger.

Fischer is a genius but he doesn't go any younger.

He needs to come out now before its too late with full support of Iceland. Come what may!!

Reading all these comments I was very much overwhelmed. I am a Fischer admirer too. Thought to consider myself as one of those is nothing special.

I support one of the idea that we dont mind if Fischer come back and find it hard to cope with the very best of modern time. It is understandable as well as cherishable too. But something of a new boost will certainly occur if he comes back.

It is also a pragmatic thougt that he will never comeback. He will never let his ego go down. So, I think Fischer may start writing on classical chess again and start playing Fischerandam. Thus both side of the game would be immensely served.

Though I personally from the love of my heart do not like the idea of any chess variant.

Fischer had already let his ego down unknowingly, depending on how you interpret it.

Fischer......what more can be said? He could never live up to the myth he created. He wasn't afraid of Karpov, he was afraid of destroying his myth. I only regret the loss of all the great chess games we could be playing through and enjoying now....Fischer vs. Karpov, Fischer vs. Kasparov, Fischer vs. Kramnik, on and on. Now he's too old and not fearless like Korchnoi. Still too afraid of tarnishing the myth. The synaptic connections are detaching and the neurons are dying. Let him rest in peace.

Fischer single handedly did more to defeat the communist then any other human including the entire US Government State Depaartment. He created a crack so large that even the feble minded Ronald Reagan walked through. Its a shame the US Government used its hyprocisy to cause Bobby Fischer great harm. I hope they will be a reckoning some day. Bobby Fischer was a great MAN
